Flemingate Christmas lights switch On

This Friday 22nd November 2019 late night shopping and this year’s Christmas lights switch-on at Beverley’s Flemingate centre.

Flemingate provide a night of entertainment, Little Chix – Britain’s best and longest-running Little Mix tribute act will bring the band’s top hits and dance routines to the stage.

Perfectly timed for the release of the long-awaited sequel Frozen which hits the big screen the same day! Elsa, Anna and Olaf will perform a medley of songs from the soundtrack and hosted by Beverley FM presenter Adam Smith, the festive evening will also feature Christmas classics by the All For One Choir and entertainment by the Parkway Panto cast from Talegate Theatre’s “Sleeping Beauty”, who are performing at the Parkway Cinema theatre stage over the festive season.

Cosy Nordic tipi bar Bartipi is making a return to Flemingate for a third year. The festive pop-up features a roaring fire pit, festive lighting, cosy seating and a selection of festive tipples.

Jo Bridgeman, Flemingate Marketing and Events Manager, said: Rounding the evening off will be a fabulous fireworks display lasting around seven minutes, immediately followed by a grand finale performance by Little Chix – a great way to mark the countdown to Christmas.  

The Flemingate Christmas event begins at 5pm and is due to close at 8pm. The lights switch-on is at 7.15pm, immediately followed by the seven-minute fireworks display.

Home to a host of retailers, Flemingate is the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping, whilst enjoying a bite to eat and drink with friends and family in the bars, cafes and restaurants.

East Riding College is also staying open late with a variety of refreshments and activities.

Drivers are being warned that Armstrong Way will be closed to traffic between 6.15pm and 7.45pm.

People coming to the event by car can use Flemingate’s 500-space car park for just £1 for three hours.
