Five days of Christmas markets coming to Beverley

Five days of festive activities are coming to Beverley as the ever-popular Festival of Christmas returns to the town.

The festival, sponsored by The Beverley Arms - part of the Daniel Thwaites hospitality company - is now in its 27th year.

Each year, on the second Sunday in December, the centre of Beverley is transformed into a magical Christmas shopper’s wonderland, as more than 120 stalls brimming with Christmas gifts and local treats take over the historic market town.

The festival attracts thousands of visitors to the East Riding from all corners of the UK to experience fine Christmas food, drink, arts and crafts.

This year’s event will be held on Sunday, 10 December, from 10am to 4pm, taking over Saturday Market, North Bar Within and Wednesday Market, with links to Flemingate Shopping Centre.

The days leading up to the festival will also see the return of the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market.

Now in its third year and also sponsored by The Beverley Arms, the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will celebrate the very best produce that East Yorkshire’s local businesses have to offer.

It will take place in Saturday Market from Wednesday, 6 December, to Friday, 8 December, from 10am to 4pm, with an array of festive entertainment and activities planned throughout.

The weekly Saturday Market on 9 December will also have a Christmas theme.

Further details on the planned entertainment, travel information, park and ride and road closures will be made available in the run-up to the events at Beverley Festival of Christmas and Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market

"It is always a hugely popular event, with visitors from all over the UK coming to enjoy the festive stalls and entertainment. I’m sure it will be popular again this year and we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors as we get into the festive spirit in preparation for Christmas.

"It is also terrific that the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will be returning to Beverley for its third year. The market is a fantastic addition to a truly joyful time of the year and extends Beverley’s Christmas markets to five days.”
