Extra early bus from Beverley into Hull
Thu 29th August 2019From Sunday 1 September 2019 local bus company East Yorkshire will be running more early morning services across its network, improving services for shift-workers and commuters, and giving better connections for train services to Leeds, Sheffield and London from Hull Paragon Interchange.
Passengers living in Willerby, Longhill, Hessle, Cottingham, The Avenues and Beverley will all benefit from extra weekday journeys each morning. Staff at Hull Royal Infirmary will also benefit from earlier buses to the hospital.
In Beverley, there will be an extra Service 121 bus leaving Beverley Bus Station at 5.35am, in addition to the existing departures at 6.05am and 7.05am. These all serve Woodmansey and Dunswell on the journey into Hull.
Commenting on the improvements, Ben Gilligan, Area Director for East Yorkshire, said: “We’re delighted to be able to add additional services to our already extensive network to give local people more opportunities to travel.
“This is just the starting point for running buses earlier and more frequently, and we’ll be using it to gauge interest with a view of hopefully adding buses from other areas in future.”
The changes are part of an ongoing commitment by East Yorkshire of improving bus services, which includes a £6m investment in new buses announced in June.
Minor timetable changes will also be made in September, including Beverley Town’s 520/521 and Service 143 which travels from Beverley to Ferriby.
