The latest in the programme of temporary exhibitions at Beverley Guildhall is on until Friday, 30 May. The new exhibition, ‘Boggles, Ghosts and Ragwells’ explores the many myths and superstitions surrounding rural East Riding of Yorkshire.
Fiona Jenkinson, curator of Beverley Guildhall said 'There has been a lot of research done for this exhibition, and we're looking forward to revealing what we have discovered to the public.
'With multiple areas of interest in our county, including ritual monuments and paranormal activity, the East Riding has a varied history of being a mysterious area. From a selection of ghosts, to more minor superstitions, this exhibition is sure to intrigue those with an interest in the supernatural.”
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism added: “Every exhibition at Beverley Guildhall is fascinating, and this one promises to live up to the standard of those before it. Come along and explore the ghostly goings on around the East Riding.”
Admission to Beverley Guildhall is free. The opening times for the Guildhall are 10am – 1pm on Wednesdays and 10am – 4pm each Friday. Keep up to date with other exhibitions and events at East Riding Museums by visiting: www.eastridingmuseums.co.uk/whats-on
