East Yorkshire Nurse Wins Uk Menopause Nurse Of The Year For 2nd Year Running

Tracey Dennison named UK Menopause Nurse of the Year for the second year running as clinic also recognised across national categories

“We want women to know more, expect better and feel confident seeking regulated, expert support during menopause.”

Consultant Nurse Practitioner Tracey Dennison has been named UK Menopause Nurse of the Year at the Menopause in Practice Awards 2026, retaining the title she first won last year.

The judges also recognised her clinic, East Riding Aesthetics & Wellness, which was named Best Menopause Clinic (North of England) and received highly commended awards for Menopause Practice (UK) and Menopause Education Provider.

Tracey’s second consecutive win reflects a career spanning more than 33 years in nursing.  She is recognised in the UK and internationally for her work in menopause care, education and advocacy.  She is a British Menopause Society Registered Specialist, a trainer of menopause practitioners and a regular speaker at national and international conferences.

Her clinical work includes in-person clinics in Beverley, York and Milton Keynes, alongside online consultations supporting women at every stage of their menopause journey.  She also works extensively delivering menopause training to organisations and advising employers on how to create more supportive workplace cultures.  This is particularly relevant ahead of the ‘menopause mandate’ which will become law for large employers in 2027.

Reflecting on the awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation in menopause care across the UK, Tracey said:

“We are a small clinic with a very wide reach.  No single practitioner can - or should - offer menopause care in isolation.  Our success is down to a huge multidisciplinary network - from yoga therapists and nutritionists to clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, personal trainers and community groups.  We refer to them and they refer to us.  We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who trusts us with their care at what can be a very difficult and vulnerable time.”

Tracey has long been a vocal advocate for the role of nurses in women’s health, arguing that nursing expertise is often undervalued despite being central to effective menopause care.

“Nurses need a much higher profile in women’s health,” she said.  “We build relationships, we listen and we’re often the people women feel safest opening up to. That puts us in a unique position to deliver expert, evidence-based care when generalist services don’t fully understand menopause.”

The 2026 ceremony, held earlier this month, also recognised Ness Griffiths, who was highly commended in the same category.  Ness is an Independent Nurse Prescriber (INP) Registered Nurse (RN) and clinical lead of Oracle Clinics based in Newcastle and Carlisle.

Tracey said:

“I’m incredibly proud that northern nurses really brought it home this year.  Ness and I are proud to represent the North and to show that world-class menopause care is happening here, right now, through supportive, collaborative practice.”

Education remains central to Tracey’s work.  She leads menopause education programmes for healthcare professionals and in the corporate sector, delivers practitioner training nationally and works as a trainer on the British Menopause Society Specialist Course, helping shape the next generation of menopause clinicians.  She also delivers Level 1 face-to-face training for medical professionals through Cosmetic Courses.

Her work reaches charities, community organisations and hard-to-reach groups - and she is a long-standing supporter and speaker at Menopause Hull, an annual event promoting awareness and access to menopause support.

“It’s fantastic to receive this recognition,” Tracey said.  “Through our clinics and education programmes, we want women to know more, expect better and feel confident seeking regulated, expert support during menopause.”
