The East Riding of Yorkshire Band has become the brass band in residence at East Riding Music Service.
The partnership will launch a programme of youth and junior brass bands for all ages and abilities. It will deliver musical support through special brass sessions and workshops, as well as instrument specific sessions for cornets, horns, baritones, trombones, euphoniums, basses, and percussion.
Having the East Riding of Yorkshire Band as the brass band in residence means children who are new to playing in a brass band will be able to perform alongside an established band, as well as gain additional support with their music.
Councillor Victoria Aitken, cabinet member for children, families and education said: “This is an exciting development for the Music Service and a great step towards strengthening brass band opportunities for children across the East Riding.”
