Driffield poultry business's FD shortlisted for meat industry award

The team at a Middleton on the Wolds poultry business are celebrating after their Finance and IT Director has reached the finals of the prestigious Women in Meat Industry awards.
Claire Wright ACMA has been shortlisted in the Manufacturing/Processing category of the annual awards that recognise outstanding female talent and showcase the contributions that women make to the meat sector.
Mrs Wright was nominated without her knowledge by Soanes Poultry's MD, Nigel Upson: "Claire joined us as Financial Controller in July 2016 and by 2018 she had made such a difference to our business that she was promoted to Finance & IT Director. Last month, she was promoted again to General Manager of Clive Soanes Broilers, the animal husbandry arm of our business, whilst retaining her FD role.
"Hardworking, loyal and great fun to work with, Claire is highly regarded member of the Soanes Poultry team and is a deserving finalist in these awards."
The awards are organised by the publishers of Meat Management Magazine and the categories include Retailing, Craft Butchery, Training and Education and Rising Star.
Mrs Wright is one of nine finalists in the category that will now go to a public vote to decide the winner. The results will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on 13th November. You can vote for her here womeninmeatawards.com/vote.
Soanes Poultry is a family owned business that has been rearing and preparing chicken since 1947. It supplies butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and wholesalers nationwide.
