Discover a career in care at the ‘Big Care Career Fairs’ this February

Discover A Career In Care At The Big Care Career Fairs This February

East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, is inviting jobseekers, students and those looking to change their careers to explore exciting opportunities in the care sector at three upcoming Big Care Career Fairs this February.

Following the success of the recent Hull University event, these fairs aim to showcase the wide variety of roles available in care, from frontline support to behind-the-scenes positions such as IT, gardening, driving, cooking, maintenance and planning.

The care sector is evolving and offers flexibility, choice, and clear career pathways. Whether visitors are looking for full-time or part-time work, temporary or permanent roles, or perhaps students seeking experience alongside their studies, there is something for everyone.

The careers fair offers a unique opportunity to speak directly with local adult social care businesses and discover the wide variety of rewarding careers available across the region. Visitors will find information on both current and future vacancies, with many of the employers offering CV advice.

The events are as follows:

Goole: The Jobcentre, Mulberry House, North Street, Friday 6 February, 10am – 12pm, to register visit: Big Care Career Fair Goole Tickets, Fri, 6 Feb 2026 at 10:00 | Eventbrite

Careers in care are for everyone; carers come from all walks of life including young carers, carers from ethnic minority communities and LGBTQ+ carers. There are plenty of entry level opportunities to help people take that first step into care, as well as pathways into management roles.

Councillor Jonathan Owen, cabinet member for adult social care and health at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: ‘’A career in care is like no other and it might not be what you imagine.

‘’Whether you’re looking for part-time or full-time work, exploring a career change, or seeking experience to support your studies, these events will connect you with employers who are ready to talk about current vacancies and future opportunities.’’

Goole employer engagement and partnership advisor, Liz Sargeantson added: “Goole Jobcentre Plus is proud to be working in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council to deliver the Choose Care event.

‘’This is a fantastic opportunity for local people to explore meaningful, rewarding careers in the care sector and to connect directly with employers who are passionate about making a difference in our community. We are committed to helping residents build confidence, develop new skills, and move into roles that change lives—including their own.”

Employers attending include East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Caremark, Affinity Trust, Happy Futures, Swanton Care & Community, WilfWard and NCCN (New Concept Care and Nursing).
