Deadline Approaching for Time2Volunteer Award Entries
Tue 4th July 2023The countdown has begun to submit nominations for the Time2Volunteer Awards 2023.
To ensure volunteers receive the recognition they deserve, make sure to beat the deadline and submit nominations by Sunday, 23 July 2023.
Hosted by the HEY Smile Foundation and partners, including Hull CVS, Nisa Retail's charity Making a Difference Locally (MADL), and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the Time2Volunteer Awards ceremony celebrates the extraordinary contributions of volunteers in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, and North East Lincolnshire.
Tessa Wray, Head of Partnerships and Development at Smile, says: "Taking a moment to nominate someone who is making a difference will leave you with a feeling of joy.
“We know that volunteers transform lives and shape communities, and since entries opened, we have been inspired by some incredible stories and acts of kindness. However, many stories of volunteering are everyday people giving their time and efforts to help others. They themselves may not feel extraordinary, but to those they help, they are. The collective force of volunteering is huge, and we want to celebrate all those people who give back. This celebratory event is for them.
“This is a reminder to anyone who plans to submit a nomination that now is the time to put forward your nominees and let their remarkable efforts shine.”
Across twelve award categories, the Time2Volunteer Awards provide a platform to recognise volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. This year, two additional categories acknowledge the evolving landscape of volunteering — the Inclusive Volunteer Award for those who empower individuals from diverse communities, and the Founding Volunteer Award that celebrates the pioneers who have set up their own groups or charities.
Jamie Lewis, CEO of Smile, is looking forward to his first awards since joining the charity last November. He says: ”Time2Volunteer provides a platform to not only acknowledge excellence but also encourage positive change within our local community. Judges are eager to read the amazing stories that highlight individuals who have gone above and beyond to make a real difference to local charities, groups, and the people and causes they support.”
All shortlisted nominees will receive two complimentary tickets to the ceremony, where they will be treated to a delightful sparkling afternoon tea. Additional tickets will also be available for purchase.
The Time2Volunteer Awards 2023 will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hull on Thursday, 5 October.
