College joins Bondholders Scheme
Wed 12th September 2018East Riding College have joined Marketing Humber’s Bondholders Scheme. The Scheme is a powerful network of businesses ranging from local entrepreneurs to multinationals. The College became one of 280 members whose focus is to attract investment, retain and harness talent in the local area, and to create a thriving economy.
As a Bondholder the College will act as an ambassador for the Humber, fuelling the local economy and securing its future and the future of the College’s students.
As part of the membership deal the College’s students will also have access to the Young Talent Network, who are developing an event programme for young people, providing networking opportunities and support and learning groups for young talent in the region. The network is open to students, apprentices and graduates making their first moves in their careers. Events include a walking tour of the Bankside Gallery, inspirational speakers and the Humber Routes event – young professionals and entrepreneurs sharing their experiences of the different paths they have taken in their early careers.
Mike Welsh, Principal and Chief Executive said, “Becoming a Bondholder and supporting Marketing Humber is important to the College in a number of ways. Like many in the network, we are passionate about harnessing and nurturing young talent, and encouraging people to study and develop their career within the area. The Humber and the East Riding has many thriving and emerging industries, and it is right that the College should be at the heart of this growth in order to fulfil its mission to be a leader in economic and social development of the region.
“It is also important to us to get our students directly involved in the Young Talent Network and open up opportunities to them to meet likeminded individuals, who are interested in developing their careers.”
Diana Taylor, Managing Director of Bondholders said, “I am really pleased to have East Riding College as a member, adding their commitment and momentum to the future of our region. Engaging with the young talent of our region is a high priority for Marketing Humber Bondholders, as we look to attract and retain the skills and capabilities we need to drive our businesses and industries forward.”
