Club photography exhibition set to break all records
Tue 19th September 2023The Viewfinder Photographic Society’s ever popular annual exhibition gets underway once
again in October at Skidby Village Hall and looks set to break all attendance records.
In 2022 the exhibition attracted over 500 visitors from around the region and this year, numbers
are expected be even higher as the show ‘goes on the road’ in East Yorkshire.
After its usual weekend in Skidby, the exhibition moves to Lockington Village Hall for visitors to
enjoy and then straight on to another village. For the very first time, the display will be appearing
at The Ferguson Fawsitt Arms in Walkington, so anyone that can’t see the exhibition in Skidby
will have two further opportunities in the East Riding.
Society members are encouraged to display their recent photographs to the public at the
exhibition - one of the highlights of the club’s yearly programme that demonstrates the range of
talent within the Society.
Admission to the exhibition is free and visitors will be able to browse the pictures, vote for their
favourite images and buy from stalls selling cards, prints and gift items.
Copies of the Society’s recently published book entitled ‘Outstanding’, containing around 200
stunning local photographs, will also be on sale at the exhibition, which this year is sponsored
by Harris Lacey and Swain, Chartered Accountants.
The Viewfinder Photographic Society is a friendly club of enthusiasts who meet regularly to
support each other, exchange ideas and share expertise. It provides a place for members to
learn more about their photography by being with others who share their passion.
