Cherry Burton Golf Club bought by Aureus Leisure Ltd

Cherry Burton Golf Club, which opened in 1993 and has been closed since early last year, has been sold to Aureus Leisure Ltd, the owners of The Hawthorns Holiday Park in Bridlington and the Sandy Beaches Caravan Site in Kilnsea.
The 9-hole course was initially established in September 1993 by brothers John and Paul Slingsby, who put the club up for sale upon their retirement. It opened amid great excitement and a pre-launch membership of over 300 people, with a groundsman and club professional.
