Beverley Town Council to Annual Town Meeting on Tuesday, March 7th
Fri 24th February 2017Beverley Annual Town Meeting Tuesday 7th March 2017 6.30pm at East Riding College, Armstrong Way.
This is an opportunity for residents who live within the boundaries of Beverley Town Council to raise issues relating to the town – this could range from suggestions of new projects and ideas that might benefit Beverley, to comments regarding how major developments may affect the town. Chaired by the Mayor of Beverley, Councillor Rob Begnett, only those on the electoral role within the parish of Beverley are allowed to speak – the parish councils of Molescroft and Woodmansey also hold their own Annual Parish Meetings for residents from those areas to discuss matters pertinent to their locality.
The Mayor of Beverley, Cllr Rob Begnett said: “This is an excellent opportunity for Beverley residents to raise issues that are important to them. This is a forum to bring forth comments, suggestions and ideas regarding wider issues in the town and to see how everyone can work together in a positive way that will benefit the future of Beverley. Please bring along your suggestions and ideas for making our town a better place to live and to visit.”
Officers of Beverley Town Council will be present to take the minutes of the meeting and make a note of actions required. Any issues raised will be discussed by Beverley Town Council at future meetings – it may be that the Town Council itself could investigate some of comments, or it could be that East Riding of Yorkshire Council is better placed to deal with them, depending on their nature.
If you want to attend the meeting, but are unsure in which parish you live, please contact Beverley Town Council (01482 874096 or email clerk@beverley gov.uk) to see if you are eligible to speak.
