BEVERLEY TOWN COUNCIL & ST MARYS CHURCH - The Great Get Together
Mon 18th June 2018Beverley Town Council and St Marys Church warmly invites residents and visitors to the first joint ‘Great Get Together’ and Open Church Day on Saturday 23rd June from 11am-4pm. Beverley Town Council and St Mary’s Church are supporting the nationwide event which promotes the community to come together to celebrate. The event in Beverley is inspired by the White Rabbit of St Marys Church and will take on an Alice in wonderland Mad Hatter Tea Party theme. It is free entry and open to all to attend. It’s called The Great Get Together Community Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatters Pop Up Picnic Tea Party and we’d love you to be a part of it, just bring your picnic and friends and join in.
The Mayor of Beverley, Cllr Bryan Pearson and Reverend Becky Lumley jointly said, ‘’we’re inviting people to get together with their neighbours to share food and celebrate all that we hold in common. The Pop Up Picnic venue will be in Coronation Gardens and St Marys Church in North Bar Within. We are encouraging families to come and enjoy this community day. There will be lots of local entertainment on offer, so pack up your picnic and come down and enjoy the day.’’
Entertainment with Story Telling from the Mad Hatter, Music from Dez & Cathy Allenby of Strawberry Moon, Magic and Balloons from Magic Merlin, Face Painting, Children’s Craft Activities, Bouncy Castle, Craft Stall, Bell Tour/Roof/Priest Room visits, Tea & Cakes and much more!
