Following the success of its first ever cinema event during LGBTQIA+ History Month, Beverley Pride is delighted to announce the launch of ‘Pride & Popcorn’. A brand new monthly cinema club taking place on the last Friday of every month at Parkway Cinema, Beverley.
The next event will take place on Friday 27th March at 7:30PM, featuring a screening of the much loved coming of age film Love, Simon.
Tickets are just £5 and can be purchased in advance online or on the day.
Love, Simon tells the heartfelt and uplifting story of Simon Spier, a teenager navigating high school life while coming to terms with his sexuality. As he embarks on an anonymous online romance, Simon must find the courage to embrace his true self and share it with the world. The film is celebrated for its warmth, humour and honest portrayal of identity, friendship and first love.
Pride & Popcorn aims to provide a welcoming, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ people and allies to come together, enjoy great films and build connections within the local community. Whether you come with friends or on your own, it’s a relaxed and friendly environment where everyone is welcome.
Members of the Beverley Pride team will be there before and after the screening for anyone who would like to stay, chat and get to know others. It’s not just about the film, it’s about creating a space where people can meet, make friends and feel part of something.
