Beverley Market traders to hold charity day for hospital appeal

A fund-raising day for the Daisy Appeal at Castle Hill Hospital is being held by traders on Beverley Market this weekend.
The event, on Saturday 5 May, will include a children’s treasure hunt, a tombola and a grand prize raffle with more than 20 great prizes up for grabs.
Prizes to be won have been donated by businesses in the Beverley area and include a weekend stay at Heron Lakes, a £100 voucher from Guest and Philips, a £50 Hugh Rice jewellery voucher and a £45 Beverley Racecourse voucher.
All proceeds will go to the Daisy Appeal charity, which is funding a new £7.2million Cyclotron and Radiopharmacy Unit at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, which will be used to help medics in the earlier detection of cancer, heart disease and dementia.
The treasure hunt, raffle and tombola will be held from a Daisy Appeal stall on the market, in Saturday Market, from 9am to 3pm.
The event has been organised by stallholder Lisa Gray, liaison officer for the Beverley Group of the National Market Traders Association, who runs the Little Cheese Pantry stall.
Richard Lascelles, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s markets officer, said: “We hope shoppers, visitors and residents will support this charity day for a fantastic cause, and we’d like to thank the market traders and local businesses for supporting this event and for donating some wonderful prizes.”
