Beverley Food Festival and EYLFN Awards

Beverley Food Festival and East Yorkshire Local Food Network (EYLFN) awards will be held on the 22nd September 2016.

Beverley Food Festival have been rewarding Local Produce Awards since 2006, and joined with EYLFN in 2014 to produce one major event to recognise local food producers.

The competition, which took place on Wednesday 17th August, holds a range of 15 categories which consists of 'food & drink' and 'other' categories. Each producer is allowed a maximum of 2 products to enter per category. The entries are judged on excellence, taste, appearance, texture, smell and commitment to local sourcing.

2. Best Pickle/ Chutney

3. Best Meat or Fish Product (raw, cooked or smoked. Includes sausages etc)

4. Best Savoury Baked Product (bread, pie, sausage roll etc)

5. Best Sweet Baked Product (cake, pie, pastries etc)

6. Best Dairy Product (including cheese and ice cream)

7. Best Drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)

8. Best Fruit/ Vegetable

9. Best Miscellaneous Product (chocolate, dressings, oils, spices etc)

10. Best Local Breakfast Menu

11. Best Local Menu- Café/ Tearoom

12. Best Local Menu- Pub/ Restaurant

13. Best Retailer of Local Produce

14. Best Food and Drink Event

15. Local Food Hero

The shortlist, announced on Monday 22nd August with the awards ceremony being held on Thursday 22nd September (6.30pm) at Beverley Tickton Grange.
