Aim Higher Beverley
Wed 20th November 2024Founded by two experienced parents, Nicola Robinson and Gill Jagger, Aim Higher
provides support for youngsters with neurodiversity, mental health, and educational needs.
The pair have used their lived experiences to develop social groups and outings adapted to
the social and sensory needs of young people on the spectrum.
The charity also runs free informal and friendly monthly support for parents and caregivers at
Beverley’s Armstrong’s Café. The meetings are pressure free and help connect families
facing difficulties caused by autism and neurodiverse conditions both in education, work, and
at home.
The charity said: “We are here for children and young people aged 0-25, as well as their
families every step of the way. Whether it’s providing resources, guidance, or emotional
support, we believe in uplifting the whole family as they navigate their journey together.”
The group meets on Flemingate on the third Wednesday of the month. The next meeting
takes place today 20th November from 10 am, with special guest will be Sym Tomlinson from
Healthwatch East Yorkshire. Organisers encourage people to pop in and chat at any of their
events.
