Burton Agnes J and B Fest

BURTON AGNES JAZZ AND BLUES FESTIVAL STARTS TONIGHT

Friday 12th July to Sunday 14th July 2019
The festival is underway this weekend; tickets are still available on the gate

‘Possibly the most enjoyable jazz concert I've ever attended’ The Independent

'They say that good things come in small packages. This may be one of the summer's smallest gatherings, but it's also one of the most sophisticated...' Daily Mail

One of The Daily Telegraph's best fifteen festivals for the over 50s.

The Burton Agnes Jazz & Blues Festival, which began in 2007, takes place over the weekend of Friday 12th to Sunday 14th July 2019. Music will come from the main stage in the grounds, the late night acts in the bar tent, inside the Great Hall, and from our cafe and shops courtyard.

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

If you don't already know, then read on...

The festival is uniquely set in one of the UK's finest Elizabethan stately piles, our very own Burton Agnes Hall! Over twenty five bands provide a weekend of Jazz and Blues from our manicured lawns and inside our ornately carved Great Hall. There is civilised camping with hot showers in the adjacent park field, children's entertainers, local ale and food, late night acts in the bar tent and open mic performances in our shops and cafe courtyard.

Could this be the most breathtaking place to spend a weekend, soaking up the UK's hottest jazz and blues acts?

We provide music for all tastes, from those seeking an ambient accompaniment to a glass of wine in the majestic grounds; to the jazz or blues aficionado wanting to get up close to star performers. Delicious baking from our courtyard cafe will be served in the tea tent; with locally roasted coffee brewed on our Gaggia coffee machine. There is a fabulous range of locally sourced food on our food lawn; next door to our vintage ice cream van and its real dairy ice creams. Award winning Wold Top beers will be on tap, brewed just a few miles away.

There is camping for tents, caravans and motor homes in the beautiful surroundings of the adjacent Park Field, with hot showers laid on. The child in all of us is taken care of by balloon artistry and face painting, and highlights of Burton Agnes' grounds including a maze, giant games, jungle garden and woodland walk with forest creatures to find.

WHAT OUR FESTIVAL GOERS SAY...

"The whole experience was brilliant...the combination of antiquity and youthful influence from Simon and his family, protecting tradition and heritage yet creating a relaxed and happy atmosphere. We will be back again." Tom and Hildy Young

'Just wanted to pass on our congratulations for a truly excellent day...we had been to the Jazz Festival before and really enjoyed ourselves soaking up the very special atmosphere. We will be back and will recommend to our friends and family.' Susan Silver

"Great festival! Thank you all so much. As usual we were made to feel most welcome, we enjoyed the music, the food and the setting. We will be coming next year, for me it'll be 10/10....Best wishes to one and all." Annie Bourton Card and Marion Wheeler

"We shall be joining you next year and hope for a line up just as special as this years. Our very kind regards to Simon and his family, and to all the hard-working staff at the lovely Burton Agnes Hall." Alan and Kim Brown

"Another brilliant weekend at your spectacular home, you kindly share with a few hundred music fans...Tickets bought for next year looking forward already." John and Jan Pepper

"WOW, another brilliant weekend...can't fault the line up and of course Simon doing his bit, wonderful to see him mingling and chatting to us punters even though I'm sure he must have a really hectic weekend...Thank you to Simon and family and all of the Burton Agnes team who work so hard for our entertainment." Val and Dave Bareham
