With special guests: Amy Kakoura, Brian Gulland, and Django and Felix Durrant.

Richard Durrant returns to Beverley with his popular festive celebration as part of ‘Classically Yours’, on Thursday, 2 December at 7:30pm at Toll Gavel United Church, Beverley.

Richard heralds the start of the Christmas season with son Django on percussion; founder member of Gryphon, the legendary Brian Gulland on crumhorns and bassoon; and the unforgettable voice of Amy Kakoura. This is an acoustic, festive feast of tunes from the early music repertoire, British folk and traditional carols hosted by natural storyteller Richard and packed full of midwinter magic. Over many years, Richard’s Candlelit Christmas concerts have become a seasonal tradition eagerly awaited by music lovers across the UK.

“A magical show that brought a sense of peacefulness to an otherwise hectic time. This was both a Christian and Pagan celebration without any sparkly tinsel and commercial sentimentality. Durrant’s playing was masterful, creating the right seasonal feel to this family show.” Brighton Argus

“An all embracing winter tapestry…whether pure instrumental or paired with Amy Kakoura’s soothing tones, it’s a tasteful celebration.” Guitar & Bass Magazine

This event is part of Classically Yours, an award winning long-term partnership project between Orchestras Live and East Riding of Yorkshire Council, which aims to engage new audiences with orchestral music by addressing the inequalities of opportunity to access high quality live orchestral music in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
