The first residents have moved into an in-demand Beal Homes development in Beverley, including members of the award-winning housebuilder’s own staff.

Residents are settling into their new homes at St. John’s Fold, in the shadow of Beverley Minster and close to the heart of the historic market town, which is Beal’s fastest-selling development ever.

They include three Beal staff members who have chosen to make St. John’s Fold their home – Customer Selections Manager Steve Arnold and his wife Sara; Kitchen Installer Carl Patrick and partner Caroline Williams; and Senior Architectural Technician Jo-Anne Smith and husband Clayton.

Like many buyers at St. John’s Fold, Steve and Sara have taken advantage of the unique “Beal Experience” service to personalise the design of their three bedroom Butterwick home to suit their tastes and lifestyle, with support from Beal’s expert team throughout.

They converted part of their garage to create more living space, added bi-fold doors, redesigned the kitchen, upgraded the bathroom and en suite, and added wardrobes to all three bedrooms before moving in.

Steve said: “We have lived on the Molescroft side of Beverley for 23 years and Sara has always wanted to buy a Beal home in Beverley. Our previous home was a half an hour walk from the town centre and now it’s five minutes, which is so much more convenient.

“Having the opportunity for Sara to design our own home was a massive factor. She has heard me talk about what I have done for customers and she wanted that too.

“Buying a house is the biggest purchase of your life and it’s massive thing to be able to put your own stamp on it. We felt at home after two days, which says a lot about this being the right decision for us.

“We live next door to my colleague Jo-Anne and Carl lives three doors down, and it’s a really nice community.”

St. John’s Fold on Woodmansey Mile features 55 homes and 12 different property types. Although the development was launched less than a year ago, demand has been so strong that there are now has just three homes still available.

Beal Sales and Marketing Director Sue Waudby said the popularity of the development was not surprising, given its great location close to the centre of the thriving town.

She said: “This is our fastest-selling development ever. The key attraction is the location and we expect all of the homes to be fully occupied by the end of June.

“St. John’s Fold is close to Beverley town centre but has a country feel to it and access to everything is so easy. It also has a variety of residents, from professionals and retired people, to first time buyers and people looking to upgrade their homes.”

She added it was pleasing that Beal employees were among the buyers at St. John’s Fold and several other of the housebuilder’s developments.

“At least a dozen of our own staff now live on Beal developments, which really speaks for itself. It demonstrates their absolute confidence in the quality of the homes we build and the communities we create.”

St. John’s Fold is just a short stroll from the centre of Beverley, with its great range of independent and high street retailers, bars, restaurants and other amenities. The development also offers easy access to the beautiful countryside surrounding Beverley, as well as nearby towns and villages, with excellent links, by road, bus and train.

Nick Mills and his partner Lindsay Spaven have moved into a three bedroom Levisham home at St John’s Fold.

Nick, a teacher and swimming coach at Hymers College in Hull, said: “Our home is absolutely perfect and close to all the amenities we need. This is our forever home and we had an extension built before we moved in, rather than digging up the garden in 10 years’ time.

“We really enjoyed being able to tailor the house to suit us and the customer care we have received from Beal has been top notch from start to finish.”

NHS worker Phillip Simmons has moved into his Levisham property with his daughter, Amelia, and said it already feels like home.

Phillip said: “I was born in Beverley and have lived here for many years, so I was attracted by the location. I reserved the plot in April last year when the development was at the foundation stage, so I have been able to monitor the build and it has been exciting to watch.

“Beal have been very good in keeping me updated. We have settled in really quickly and it meets all of my expectations. I am impressed with the quality of the fixtures and fittings and our neighbours are very friendly. I can also see Beverley Minster from the house, which is lovely.”
