YORKSHIRE'S MARK ADDY IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Mon 6th January 2020
Runaways 1

One of Yorkshire’s best known actors is back in the limelight this week featuring in a new TV show and a film whose heart is firmly set in Yorkshire.

Taking the lead opposite Stephen Graham, Addy stars in ITV’s big new series White House Farm. He plays the investigating policeman in charge of unravelling the real life murders that occurred in 1985 at the Essex farm.

Hot on the heels of this is feature film The Runaways which hits cinemas from 10th January.

The Runaways was filmed on location in Whitby and across the North York Moors and is described as a throwback to old family films but with a modern gritty aesthetic. Addy plays Reith, the father of a family that run the local donkey rides on Whitby seafront. It is his tragic death that propels his three screen children into an adventure that tests their sibling bonds and love.

On set Addy said it was “Lovely to be on home ground, and showing Yorkshire off to the rest of the world”.

To celebrate the film’s release Mark Addy will be joined by director Richard Heap for a couple of special preview screenings in Beverley (8th January) and Goole (10th January).
