Armed Forces Day

Beverley SSAFA Armed Forces Day is this Sunday, July 7th

Beverley's Armed Forces day, organised by SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity, is on Sunday. If you are a lover of Pipe Bands, you MUST NOT miss this event. If you are moved by the Lancaster Bomber's Rolls Royce Merlin engines, you MUST be there! 

The full programme is as follows:

0945 Defence School of Transport parade steps off from School Lane car park.

1030 Service at Beverley Minster

1200 Defence School of Transport parade arrive in Saturday Market Place, salute taken at Market Cross

1210 Standards & Veterans Parade led by Beverley & District Pipe Band, Service at Market Cross

1230 Beverley & District Pipe Band

1300 Scunthorpe & District Highland Dancers

1315 Cherie Lawrence

1345 City of York Pipe Band

1415 All For One Choir

1451 Lancaster Flypast

1500 Scunthorpe & District Pipe Band

1530 Miss Vintage Twisted

1550 North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Pipe Band

1620 Miss Vintage Twisted

1640 Massed Pipe Band Finale

1700 CLOSE

 

In Saturday Market there will be stalls, demonstrations, and activities. The Queen's Own Yeomanry will be there with a Jackal vehicle, the Army Cadets will bring their climbing wall (and carry out a display of field craft) and the Sea Cadets are bringing a kayak.

The musicians will be based at the Market Cross so it will be a relaxed, fun day for everyone!

 

P.S. PLEASE do not leave your car in Saturday Market/Market Place as the area will be cleared at 6am on Sunday morning.
