Flemingate Hogwarts 3

Join in the spellbinding Hogwarts half-term at Flemingate!

Wizards and muggles of all ages will be able to celebrate the world of Harry Potter this half-term as Beverley’s Flemingate centre hosts a magical-themed activity week.

Flemingate organisers are kick-starting their celebrations by recreating Platform 9¾ - the secret portal to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - to coincide with the fifth annual Harry Potter Book Night which took place across the world on February 7th.

During the half-term break, Harry Potter fans will be able to search for hidden treasures, including a Pygmy Puff and cups of butterbeer in a Hogwarts Hunt around Flemingate, and have a chance to win some magical mementoes.

The main Harry Potter celebration event will take place on Tuesday, February 19, from 11am-3pm, in the unit between Baytree Interiors and Outfit, where young wizards, witches and muggles can meet fantastic beasts from snakes to (bearded) dragons, try magical puzzles and crafts, and test their knowledge in a Hogwarts quiz!

Jo Bridgeman, Flemingate’s Marketing and Events Manager, said: “We’re so excited to be celebrating Harry Potter Book day with Hogwarts-themed activities during February half-term and introducing a whole new generation to the wonderful world of Harry Potter.

“We’ve got lots of fun activities lined-up, including a Hogwarts Hunt, craft sessions and puzzles, plus Harry Potter fans will be able to test their knowledge in the Magical Hogwarts Quiz! Flemingate’s own version of Platform 9¾ is also the perfect photo opportunity!

“Visitors will be able to meet some amazing exotic animals, including the armadillo featured in one of the Harry Potter films.

“Our neighbours at Armstrong Social Club have been fantastic in helping to organise and jointly run the event and we’re sure the Harry Potter-themed activities will be very popular with fans of all ages.”

Children (and adults!) are encouraged to dress up and enjoy the activities.  The event is suitable for 5-12 year-olds and children must be accompanied by an adult.

The main event on Tuesday, February 19, is free but entry will be limited during busy times.  The Hogwarts Quiz will be repeated on the hour, every hour between 11am-3pm.

The Hogwarts Hunt runs from Friday, February 15 until Sunday, February 24.

Pick up a form from Flemingate outlets.

Platform 9¾ can be found next to inflatable theme park Inflata Nation.
