Heading the charge for Beverley REYTA glory this year is The Tiger Inn in Lairgate in the Remarkable Pub category! The nominations were announced yesterday with Beverley venues and, cafe's and festivals listed as showcasing the best of Beverley.

Beverley Food Festival got two nominations in the Remarkable Tourism and Remarkable Food Experience categories along with Vanessa's Delicatessen and Cafe in the Remarkable Taste of East Yorkshire and Remarkable Cuppa categories.  Broadgate Farm Cottages are nominated again in the Remarkable Self-Catering Property category and Beverley Puppet Festival in the Remarkable Tourism category. Remarkable Newcomers include Cockpit Cafe, Beverley Minster House and Corporation Farm Cottages, Tickton, whilst the Remarkable Holiday Park category recognises Butt Farm Caravan and Camping and Manor Farm Camping. Cherry View Milk at Cherry Burton gets a nod in the Remarkable Food Experience category, Newbegin House is up for the Remarkable B&B award whilst Bishop Burton College is listed in the Remarkable British Tourist category.

Despite competition from some well-known and well-established pubs in Beverley, the Tiger Inn is the only one to have reached the nomination stages. It will be up against Hull's Head of Steam and Lion & Key; the Ship Inn at Sewerby; Wrygarth Inn at Great Hatfield and Black Horse at Little Weighton.

Allen Slinger, Landlord of the Tiger Inn said: "It's brilliant news for the Tiger and testament to the hard work the staff put in. We are honoured to have made the short-list with such illustrious competition. A big thank you to all our customers who have made the Tiger the wonderful community pub it is."
