A new joint venture for local sports training provider, Sportsability will help the company stake its claim in the burgeoning fitness industry, with use of the gym and facilities for its learners at Cottingham Parks.
The move aims to enhance the courses for fitness instructing and personal training, through the Active IQ qualifications Sportsability provides.
Suzanne Mathers is the Managing Director of Sportsability. She says:
“Cottingham Parks is an excellent location and environment for our trainees. As an Active IQ provider, we ensure learners have everything they need in terms of coaching, instructing and mentoring and now we also have a spectacular setting which is hidden away in over 200 acres of beautiful parkland - all great inspiration to get their career off to the best possible start.”
“The Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training has recently been updated and focusses more on getting learners ‘work ready’ with a greater emphasis on updated and relevant content and a more rigorous assessment, which we undertake as part of the course. We also take this one step further with additional advice and support on setting up a business and motivating clients.”
Sam Myers, Health Club Manager at Cottingham Parks says:
“This joint venture was a no-brainer for us. As part of the deal Cottingham Parks’ staff will receive CPD opportunities to improve and enhance our customers’ experience and enhance their knowledge base.”
“Sportsability is a well-known provider of fitness qualifications, with an excellent reputation which comes from many years of collective experience working in the industry.”
“Being a great fitness instructor or personal trainer is about so much more than knowing your way around a gym, it is important to build rapport with clients and enjoy motivating them to achieve their goals. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys training in the gym and is also a people person to consider it when looking for their next career move.”
Suzanne Mathers continues:
“I consider myself to be very lucky to work in an industry that I love and feel very passionate about what I do. As the saying goes 'If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life'. This is very true for me and as a team we are able to transfer this enthusiasm to learners.”
“I have always been sporty but started out as a PA. It wasn’t until I was in my 30s after having two children that I turned my passion into a career and so again, I feel this experience is a major benefit to our learners who might be in a similar situation.”
Sportsability is a community interest company providing inclusive exercise for everyone, as well as training for gym instructors, fitness instructors, personal trainers, swimming and sports within schools.
