Active Coast fun and activities for the sixth and final week of the summer holidays

‘Active Coast’ is a full programme of events and activities throughout the school holidays to celebrate sport and culture and allow people to explore, join in, and enjoy the East Riding’s stunning coastline.

The programme is designed for residents and visitors to get active, be healthy and enjoy life in the area, with events at Bridlington, Hornsea and Withernsea.

Highlights of the sixth and final week of activities (Tuesday, 28 August to Sunday, 2 September) include :

All Ride adapted cycling : Tuesday, 28 August : 11am-3pm : North Promenade, Bridlington : ages five plus : free
Family Beach Bootcamp and Games : Tuesday , 28 August : 1pm-3pm : Bridlington South Beach (near foreshores office) : ages 6-16 : free : keep fit and get active with a fun bootcamp for all abilities, followed by beach games
GoSpike Beach volleyball session: Wednesday 29 August: 1pm – 3pm : Bridlington South Beach (near foreshores office): ages 6-16 : free
Sport and Play Session : Wednesday, 29 August : Withernsea Valley Gardens: ages 6-16 : free: dodgeball, volleyball, giant lego, and much more
Have a Beach Day (Sport and Play) : Thursday, 30 August : 11am-3pm : Bridlington South Cliff Beach (below Park and Ride) : open to all : free: including football, volleyball, cricket, art wall, play activities, face painting, photo booth and much more
Mile Marker Health Walk : Thursday, 30 August : 10am-11am : East Riding Leisure Bridlington : open to all : free
Beach Cricket (with Yorkshire Cricket): Friday, 31 August : 10am -12 noon:Bridlington South Cliff Beach (below Park and Ride) : ages 6-16 : free : beach cricket on mats with qualified coaches and fun
Play Activities Session : Friday, 31 August : 12noon – 3pm: Sewerby Hall and Gardens : open to all: usual admission charges apply
Beach Tennis : Friday, 31 August : Bridlington South Cliff Beach (below Park and Ride) : ages 6-16 : free
Sewerby parkrun : Saturday, 1 September : 9am : open to all : free
Skyball Beach Volleyball Club (Yorkshire Series) : Saturday, 1 September : 10am-12 noon : Bridlington South Beach (near foreshores office) : for all ages and abilities to learn and play the game : £5 adults / £4 juniors
Sand Drawing Family Weekend Workshop(with Responsible Fishing UK) : Sunday, 2 September : 10am -4pm : Bridlington South Beach: open to all : free : race against the tide to create sand drawings on a huge scale.
