Summer of Fun continues at Sewerby Hall and Gardens - including Summer Family Fun Day

The Summer of Fun at Sewerby Hall and Gardens is continuing, with a varied programme of fun activities and events throughout the school holidays, until Friday, 31 August.

Week four culminates in the Summer Family Fun Day on Sunday, 19 August.

The fourth week of events begins on Monday, 13 August, with a Rusticus Encounter : Greek Storyteller! Be amazed by ancient stories of gods and monsters with storyteller Apollo. The following day, Tuesday, 14 August will feature a Rusticus storytime : Robin Hood!  Choose sides as the woodland creatures create a performance from their trunk of epic adventure stories. Sing songs with the outlaws and feast at the Sheriff’s banquet.

Wednesday, 15 August will be a Magic Day with face painting; there will be balloon modelling and temporary tattoos, with interactive magic shows in the Orangery, and donkey rides (small charge).

Thursday, 16 August brings a Rusticus Adventure : Shipwreck! A boatload of magical characters have been wrecked off the coast of Sewerby and are making mischief around the grounds. A chance to enjoy energetic adventure walks and activities inspired by Shakespeare’s play, The Tempest.

Friday, 17 August will include Play Activities as part of Active Coast, and the zoo team will be offering visitors a chance to make animal masks.

Sunday, 19 August will be Summer Family Fun Day from 11am -4pm, one of the highlights of the whole Summer of Fun. The day will be packed with fun and games including giant inflatables, Punch and Judy shows, face painting, donkey rides (£2 charge) and for the first time ever, Boogie Bounce fitness sessions.

In addition, there will be a chance to enjoy the Morgan car rally, and the 25th Morris Minor car rally, the largest and most popular Morris Minor rally in East Yorkshire. Visitors can bag the bargains or stock up on essentials from the Morris Minor spares trade support, take a tour of the magnificent cars from throughout the history of production on display and vote for their favourites in the full range of classes.

There will also be an Edwardian picnic and games, and the Bridlington Art Society exhibition.
