The Annual Open Art Exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery will be officially opened by Councillor Caroline Fox, Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, on Thursday, 1 March.

The exhibition remains as popular as ever, with 149 works selected from a wide range of entries for inclusion in the show.  Guest selectors this year were Jemma Brown, creative producer of Artlink in Hull, and Vera Pavlova, Curator of York Art Gallery.

This year the Selectors’ Choice was awarded to Diane Leach from Bridlington, while work by Courtney Randall, of Cottingham, was the Curator’s Choice. Both will be presented with their prizes during the launch.

Beverley Art Gallery curator Helena Gaudekova said : “The People's Choice will be running during the whole of the exhibition, and we encourage all visitors to cast their vote in the gallery and contribute towards the victory of their favourite piece.”

The Open Art exhibition will be open to the public at Beverley Art Gallery in the Treasure House from Friday 2 March until Saturday 28 April. Entry is free. The Art Gallery is open every day except Sundays.
