Kick start 2018 with a free adult learning taster session in January

Thu 21st December 2017
Kick Start 1

Are you thinking about taking an adult learning course, but need some ideas? Then the perfect way to get started is to come along to one of the free adult learner taster sessions between Monday, 8 and Saturday, 13 January 2018.

A two-hour taster course gives an idea of what goes on in a classroom, what adult learning is like and an opportunity to meet the tutor. There’s no pressure to commit to anything further and you may just find something that you really enjoy.

In two hours, you will get to try a subject that you are interested in, learn a new skill and, on the majority of courses, have something to take home with you.

The taster courses on offer in  January include counselling, creative writing, crochet, drawing and painting, dressmaking, fabric dyeing and printing, felt flowers, flower arranging, gardening for health and wellbeing, growing produce, knitting, machine embroidery, mindfulness, patchwork and quilting, photography, pottery, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS) and using a tablet/computer.

If you want to enrol on a part-time course, the council’s website is now taking bookings for courses that start January, February and March 2018.

Booking is essential for the taster courses, so please hurry to book your place.
