World Barge Pulling Cancelled

Important Notice.
The World Barge Pulling competition to be held on Sunday 23rd September is now cancelled due to the poor weather conditions.
No Barge Pulling Championships will be held in 2018.
Brian Holmes commented ;-
I am sorry to that say, we've made the decision to cancel the event this year.
The weather forecast is looking too bad and an early decision had to be made so everyone involved could be advised. The health and safety implications of people pulling a 64 ton barge in wet and windy conditions along Beverley Beck was just too much. Our plan is to cancel this year completely and see if we should hold it a bit earlier next year.
Our Thank's goes to everyone who supported the event, look forward to 2019.
