Two Rambles For Disabled People Into The East Riding Countryside To Be Held

Two rambles for disabled people into the East Riding countryside are to be held this month.

The all-terrain events will be held on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 September especially for disabled people.

The activity will be delivered by outdoor accessibility experts from Experience Community as part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Outdoor Festival.

The rambles offer an opportunity for users of all-terrain wheelchair to get out into the countryside and experience some of the most picturesque parts of the Yorkshire Wolds National Trail.

Two Experience Community Rambles will be held:

  • A leisurely circular route taking in the historic market town of Market Weighton, Goodmanham village and the Londesbrough Estate on Monday 18 September at 11am for 11.30am.
  • A more challenging route through the rolling dry dales around Fridaythorpe and Thixendale on Tuesday 19 September at 11am for 11.30am.

The rambles will be peer led by outdoor accessibility experts from Experience Community and will be supported by the council’s countryside access team.

Both rambles start and finish at accessible venues, with a well-earned cup of tea and biscuits available at the end of the day.

East Hull Community Transport will also be offering assistance with the event, thanks to the support it receives from Motability.
