Before they hit the big time by being the first classical act to win Open Mic 2016 and being championed by none other than Robbie Williams on The X Factor, the three friends, Leroy Vickers, Martin Jackson and Richard Thomas would frequently busk in Beverley. To promote their concert on March 20th at Hull City Hall, they recently busked once again in Beverley.

For the last 5 years, Tre Amici (which is Italian for ‘three friends’) have grown their fan-base at home and abroad, introducing people to classical music who wouldn’t usually go to a classical concert. Although they would describe themselves as ‘classical cross-over’ due to their different backgrounds (Richard in pop, Martin in musical theatre and only Leroy in classical) their voices meld and harmonise to bring classical standards, such as ‘Nessun Dorma’, ‘Volare’ and ‘O Sole Mio’ to appreciative audiences. They can count Aled Jones and Robbie Williams’ Dad as fans, too. They have just recorded a single ‘Luciano’ along with an album, which will be available on the night.

The concert also features the Steve (Stretch) Price Band, All For One Choir and Lucy Kay. It will be a rousing evening. Tickets are available from Hull City Hall Box Office or on-line.
