Supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Tomorrow's Youth is a new social group aimed at the over 50's which meets at Molescroft Pavilion on Wednesday afternoons from 2.15pm.

The brain-child of Councillor Jackie Heffer seconded by Cllr. Mac Fleming and with the support of East Riding of Yorkshire Councillors Elaine Aird and Denis Healy and the ERYC Sport, Play and Arts Service, the group is enabling the more mature members of the community to enjoy activities and chatter in a warm and safe environment.

Members are currently testing out sports equipment loaned by East Riding before purchasing it themselves. Indoor curling, bowls, golf and volleyball are all popular as are the refreshments after such exertion!  Board games, crafts, painting and clay modelling are also well-liked.

Cllr. Heffer said: "There are lots of activities for youngsters in Molescroft, but there was nothing for older people. We were conscious that there are social meetings happening in the villages and in Beverley but not in Molescroft and that needed to be rectified . But the socials are not restricted just to Molescroft residents - anyone living in Beverley or Tickton  is most welcome. Beverley Community Lift will ensure people can get here and back home safely, too - just give them a call on 868082.

"Anyone who would like to come but might be a bit nervous is more than welcome to give me a call on 07715 962108. We would love more people to join us!"
