The Nations Toast For The 75th Anniversary Of Ve Day Celebration

This year marks the 75th anniversary of VE day, and to both commemorate and celebrate this fact there will be a number of events over the bank holiday weekend of 8th - 10th May. SSAFA, the Armed forces Charity has joined with VE DAY 75, and will collaborate with pubs across the country to create a day to remember.

On Friday 8th May, ‘The Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW2’ takes place at 3pm.

At the same time the themes ‘Battle’s O’er’ and ‘VE Day 75’, a new piece specifically written for the occasion by Pipe Major Roger Bayes, will be played in communities across the UK.

Later in the evening at 6.55pm, town criers around the world will join together for ‘A Cry for Peace Around the World’.
