From long-standing local treasures like the Handbell Ringers and Male Voice Choir, through to the infectious enthusiasm of the Ukulele Group and young musicians from the Youth Orchestra and CLGB.

We hope it will be a relaxed and informal afternoon, with residents and visitors able to come and go as they please.” Everyone attending the event is welcome to bring a picnic to eat either inside the Minster or within surrounding grounds.

Doors open at 12noon on Bank Holiday Monday 8th May 2023 and there will be a wide range of local community groups promoting their activities and encouraging new volunteers, all within the spirit of the national “Big Help Out” initiative being led by His Majesty King Charles III. The King’s Community Celebration is completely free to attend, with people invited to come and go as they wish - you can sit down to watch the performers, wander in and around the Minster whilst listening to the music or simply enjoy a family picnic at a truly remarkable location
