The Big Ambition Have You Say

Children and young people in the East Riding have the chance to give their views to the Government, as The Big Ambition launches.

The Big Ambition survey aims to hear directly from children and young people about what they enjoy about their schools, communities, family life, and the wider world. It will also capture what children and young people want for their future, their hopes and their aspirations.

Parents and carers are also encouraged to complete the survey for those who may need additional support, or on behalf of younger children, under the age of six.

The survey is driven by the Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel de Souza, who aims to put children's voices and needs at the heart of Government policies.

Councillor Victoria Aitken, portfolio holder for children, families and education said: “I’d encourage all of our children, young people and parents to have their say, so that government policies can reflect their needs.

"It is an opportunity to tell government about the needs of families here in the East Riding, along with what works well.”

The survey is anonymous, but asks which school the child attends. It takes around ten minutes to complete and can be completed on mobile phones, tablets, laptops and computers.
