Sponsor a seat at East Riding Theatre

Thu 20th March 2014

East Riding Theatre on Lord Roberts Road is set to open in June, but there is still a fair bit of work to be done and money to be raised.

Therefore, director Vincent Regan and project manager Sue Kirkman have hit upon the idea of asking local people and businesses to sponsor a seat, or other area of the venue.

Sue said: "We are running a campaign to sponsor a theatre seat. These are available for a one-off cost of £100. It is hoped we will raise £20,000 from the seats campaign alone. The chairs will display the sponsor's name on a plaque, to show their support for the venture."

Vincent added: "ERT is a professional theatre and not-for-profit company, in the process of becoming a registered charity. With no public funding, our initial costs to equip the theatre are reliant upon the generosity of our supporters, the list of which is growing all the time, both locally and nationally.

"Dame Judi Dench agreed last year to become the theatre's patron, and locally we have many businesses that have already stepped forward with vital funds and their own services to help us realise our theatre dreams in the summer."

The list of items available to sponsor are:

  • Stage - £6,000
