rock band has album entirely crowdfunded

Mon 1st June 2015

A band has had their album entirely funded by a crowdfunding website.

Eureka Machines, a punk rock band based in Leeds, received 100% of their target within 80 minutes of placing their information online.

Chris Catalyst, the bands frontrunner, is formally from Beverley. The band formed in 2009 and have released four albums in that time.

The fourth, ‘Brain Waves’, was released in May and is built around the theme of mental health. Due to this, the band is donating 10% of sales to MIND, the mental health charity. So far they have raised £3500.

The band has a loyal fan base, rushing to buy the new album as soon as it was released. The rush to get hold of it pushed the band into the position of biggest selling British rock band in the UK that week.
