Return of Dog Rescue’s Much Loved Summer Show!

Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s Annual Summer Show returns with an earlier date to pencil in your diary!

Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s much loved Summer Show is returning to our North Lincolnshire rescue centre in Broughton this year, with an earlier date of Sunday 11th June.

In previous years the Summer Show is typically held on the second Sunday in July, but due to soaring temperatures of almost 30 degrees last year, the charity have pulled the event forward in the hope of cooler temperatures to enable supporters and dogs alike to have a fun filled day.

The Summer Show is a fantastic family day out, and of course is dog friendly too. The event kicks off from 10am and will be jam packed with stalls, entertainment, live music, children's rides and face painting, plenty of food and drink and so much more! Entry is by donation on the gate and all funds raised support rescue dogs in need.

A Summer Show highlight for many, is the fun dog show which will be returning this year, with a range of categories for every dog to get involved in from best rescue, golden oldie and cutest puppy.

The categories are; ‘Waggiest Tail’, ‘Handsome Chap’, ‘Loveliest Lady’, ‘Cutest Puppy’, ‘Golden Oldie’, ‘Best Rescue’, ‘Best Friends (Child Handler)’, ‘Happy Families (2+ dogs)’ and Best in Show. All doggy winners will receive a rosette, and Best in Show will receive a hamper full of goodies.

For those who can’t attend, there’s a chance to showcase your dog online as part of the Summer Show Online Dog Show, which runs simultaneously on the Jerry Green Dog Rescue Facebook page.

Talking about the Summer Show, Event Fundraiser, Charlotte Toplass, said; ‘The Summer Show is one of our flag-ship events and we’re hoping it will help us to raise a significant amount for rescue dogs across our three centres, plus the hundreds more that we support in the communities which we serve.

The highlight for me is definitely the fun dog show, It’s fantastic to see all the gorgeous dogs and their doting owners helping to support dogs in our care.

If you don’t have a dog, don’t worry! There’s still plenty to get involved with from delicious food stands, live music and stalls to browse. It’s the perfect summer’s day out for couples, groups of friends and families. We hope to see you there!’
