Cherry Burton Arts are to co-host a special concert with Fire and Rain, following a popular performance last summer.

Fire & Rain are a collection of Scarborough–based musicians that combine to perform the timeless classics of James Taylor and Carol King in an evening of ‘pure musical pleasure’. The band are made up of Tom Townsend (Tom Townsend Blues Band), Rich Adams (Stony), Mark Gordon (Stony), Paul Tilley (Jazz Band) and Bob Walker.

Event organiser, Martin Peirson added, “Last year’s Cherry Burton performance from this act was so popular we just had to do it all again this year. The band are building on the success of that one-off gig-and have expanded it into a 2015 mini-tour taking in Pocklington, Ilkey and Scarborough- and Cherry Burton of course!  The fact that all the songs will be some of the ‘best ever written’ is a bonus.”

Classic Taylor and King compositions include ‘You’ve Got  Friend’ ‘Fire & Rain’, ‘Sweet Baby James’, ‘I Feel the Earth Move’ and ‘Will you still Love me Tomorrow’- and these will likely be included in the band’s song list. Choosing favourites to perform will not be easy for the group that was named after a Taylor composition.

Cherry Burton Arts are joining forces with Hunsley Acoustic Music for this event, and are delighted that for all the East Yorkshire shows the support will be Grace Falls, a young performer making a name for herself locally.

Fire and Rain will be performing the songs of James Taylor & Carole King at The Village Hall, Cherry Burton, near Beverley on Saturday 4 July at 8pm.

Doors open at 7.30pm and attenders should bring their own drinks/glasses.
