Over 160 people gather to sing an 'Instant' Messiah

Fri 11th November 2016
Toll Gavel United Church Beverley

Tomorrow, Toll Gavel's 'Instant' Messiah will be sung by a 'scratch' choir of over 160 voices after just two-and-a-half hours practice! That's how many people have 'signed-up' for this challenging event! Local music shops have been busy selling Watkins Shaw versions in advance of the day for choir-members who wish to practice beforehand, although there are copies available for hire on the day.

With soloists Elaine Dave (soprano), Berry Lewis (contralto), David Bowden (tenor) and Kevin Ormond (bass) conducted by Colin Wright and accompanied on Toll Gavel's organ by Julian Savory, the performance promises to raise the roof in joyful song.

People wishing to enjoy the beautiful music and experience the occasion by listening are very welcome to grace the pews when the performance begins at 7pm for just £5.
