North Bar Within set to be prime viewing location

Fri 24th April 2015

North Bar Within is going to be the hub of all things Tour de Yorkshire on 2 May. The historic street is expected to offer the best views of the cycling race during its Beverley phase, which is expected at around 12.45pm.

The street will host a large TV screen covering the event, to ensure all those who attend are guaranteed a good view at the busy junction. Activities will be on offer throughout the day to entertain the thousands of people expected to visit Beverley for the race, which will include Sir Bradley Wiggins.

The street will be closed to traffic from 6am to 6pm and East Riding Council has warned of disruptions to residents and businesses.

The televised event will see two giant wheels on Beverley Minster’s west towers, displayed in blue and yellow to attract the attention of the helicopter cameras flying over the race.
