New Health And Wellbeing Facilities Manager For East Riding Of Yorkshire Council

Tim Hicks, has joined East Riding of Yorkshire Council as health and wellbeing facilities manager, taking over from Adrian Walters, who retired recently.

His main role will be to manage the operations and future development of the ten East Riding Leisure Centres.

Tim says: “I'm really looking forward to my new role at East Riding of Yorkshire Council as health and wellbeing facilities manager, as the council’s wellbeing offer has a real focus on the health of the community and aligns well with my knowledge, skills and experience.

“I feel lucky to secure a role within a local authority that is ardent about health, set within an industry that I am very passionate about. The health and wellbeing centres deliver an excellent variety of health activity, but their focus is on community health, which is an exciting prospect for me, because they have a vision to deliver real positive community health change both inside and outside of the four walls of the health and wellbeing venues.”

Tim, originally from Rotherham, has previously worked as Contract Manager for Places Leisure, and was also Head of Health and Wellbeing for Sheffield City Trust Group (SCTG). He has also had various roles at the Sam Jones Health Club (DC Leisure) and at Coventry Sports Centre.

Lou Adams, health and wellbeing group manager, said: “The team are delighted to welcome Tim to the East Riding, and we look forward to working with him to ensure that we can continue to put health and wellbeing at the very heart of communities across the East Riding.”
