East Riding Theatre is celebrating 1 year of eclectic programming with a new Christmas production of Dicken's classic, Oliver Twist, and the launch of the House Cafe Bar.

Located in a former chapel, East Riding Theatre has had a successful first year, showcasing local and far-away talent and drawing in visitors from all over the region.

Offering something for everyone, from summer schools for budding actors to acclaimed shows such as A Steady Rain, ERT has been supported by theatre-goers and volunteers. Sue Kirkman, Theatre Manager at ERT said "the army of volunteers and their invaluable skills are literally the building blocks of the theatre and they continue to provide the solid base on which everyday operations rely."

Following the sell-out success of last year's A Christmas Carol, director Mike Friend is back with a new Christmas production, another tale by Charles Dickens. Oliver Twist runs from 10th December until 3rd January 2016. Co-director Adrian Rawlins said "theatre-goers will be impressed at how we've used the space in this fabulous building. We have a fantastic cast of professional actors and some great young talent from the area and the company has really brought a dynamic new edge to the familiar tale."

Suitable for all the familt, the show promises to be a visual spectacle of dark drama and humour, with live music, song and dance.
Open to members of the public and those with tickets to ERT shows, the all-new House Cafe Bar will be open seven days a week from 12th December. Food will be freshly prepared, to order and will include everything from Brunch to Lunch, plus a Special Supper menu.

Oliver Twist runs from 10th December to 3rd January 2016, with performances at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. With tickets selling fast, contact East Riding Theatre to avoid disappointment.
