East Riding Leisure and East Riding Libraries have teamed up to showcase various ways they can support mental and physical health this winter, with their ‘Mind and body health’ campaign on their social media channels.

Hints, advice and information to support mental and physical health will be shared across their social media channels @ERLeisure and @ERLibraries, signposting to various free resources. These include East Riding Leisure’s YouTube channel full of workouts, vlogs and short exercise, and East Riding Libraries’ free audio books, eBooks, online magazines and library of health and wellbeing books - all free to download or borrow using the order and collect library service throughout this lockdown.

Councillor Shaun Horton, portfolio holder for Coastal Regeneration and Tourism, including leisure and culture, said : “Interesting facts, such as that ‘Reading for 6 minutes a day can reduce stress levels by up to 68%’ and ‘Exercising releases endorphins which make you feel good’ will feature in the campaign – why not join the two and listen to an audiobook (free to download from East Riding Libraries!) when going for a walk!

“Both services will be showcasing the benefits that small changes and daily practices can have on our mental and physical health, and how both aspects are intrinsically linked. Even the smallest of changes can make a huge difference on our overall wellbeing, so why not see what services and resources are available to access from your own home?”
