Meet The Women Of Achievement Award Winners During Humber Business Week

Hosted by Women in Business Hull in conjunction with The Mercure Hotel

The winners of one of the region’s most popular and prestigious awards will be speaking at an inspirational event during Humber Business Week.

The Women of Achievement Awards, hosted biannually by Women in Business Hull, celebrate the talents and success of women in the Humber region who are setting the standards in business, blazing a trail for other women to follow and making an outstanding contribution to the community.

‘Meet the Winners’ will be taking place on Wednesday 7th June, 2023, at the Mercure Hotel in Willerby, where the awards ceremony took place in November. As well as presentations and networking, there will be a panel and live Q&A session.

Karen Newton, Chair of Women in Business, said it’s a great opportunity to learn more about these exceptional women.

“The Women of Achievement Awards are always fantastic events. They never fail to inspire and motivate - and our November 2022 event was as brilliant as ever. We celebrated some truly outstanding women. That’s why we are so proud to host our Meet the Winners event during Humber Business Week.”

A number of the WOAA 2022 winners will be speaking at the event including three from Ideal Heating - Apprentice/Trainee recipient Nina Weldrick, Women in STEM winner Maria Gillum and Helen Villameura, who won the Women Breaking Boundaries award. Tracey Watson, director of Global Product Portfolio Management at Ansell will also be taking part. Tracey won the Employee of the Year category. Meanwhile, Lifetime of Achievement Award winner and the Overall Woman of Achievement for 2022, charity bid writer and adviser Carol Ideson, completes the line-up. Karen Newton continued:

“Often, at awards ceremonies, we only hear the tip of the iceberg about the winners, so this is your chance to get up close and personal and ask them the key to their success. Find out how they got there, where they are heading next, what it means for them to have won and how it affects their business and careers to be a winner. This is the first time we’ve put on this event and we encourage as many people as possible to attend. We are also hoping that our winners will inspire others to put themselves forward or nominate someone they know for The Women of Achievement Awards in 2024.”

Women in Business is a not-for-profit organisation that offers a unique blend of professionalism and sociability, providing support, friendship and networking to its members.
