Markets closed - but traders can still deliver to your door

All council-run markets in the East Riding have had to close during the coronavirus lockdown following Government guidance.

But some of your favourite traders are still operating by providing a delivery service to your door during these difficult times.

So residents can still support some of the traders they are used to seeing at markets in Beverley, Bridlington, Pocklington and Cottingham.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council, which runs the markets in Beverley and Pocklington, has put together a list of those regular traders who are able to deliver food and other goods to residents.

Councillor Mike Stathers, portfolio holder for enhancing communities at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: “I know some shoppers will be missing the markets and seeing the regular traders at this time, and small businesses like these are suffering.

“However residents can still show support for those traders who are still operating and delivering goods, and we wanted to let people know to show our support for the traders.

“Local businesses that are still open in towns and villages across the East Riding are equally important and they also need our support at this time.”
