Beverley's high street is now home to a new family-friendly shoe shop – inspired by the owner’s inability to find suitable school shoes in the town.

Feet First Footwear has officially opened on Walkergate after taking over the ground floor premises which was previously home to Hemingway Bailey accountants.

Owner Marcos Dinsdale hopes the business will prove to be a popular addition to the town.

Marcos who has lived in Beverley for the last 18 years, knows how difficult it can be to buy affordable school shoes in Beverley. Having travelled to Hull for shoes on numerous occasions, they are hoping to take advantage of this gap in the market. They will be selling footwear to suit men, women and children of all ages - from school shoes and work wear to trainers and leisure footwear.

Marcus will also have branded trainers like Adidas and Reebok as well as a variety of affordable everyday shoes and heels – to meet everyone's requirements.

The location is just right, close to Walkergate car park and near to the main high street, which should allow them to take advantage of the high level of footfall.

It’s only taken a matter of weeks to refurbish and be ready to open, hopefully, the residents of Beverley will support Marcus with his new venture.
