Major improvements to footway / cycleway at Malton Road, Molescroft

Tue 25th April 2017

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to upgrade the footway/cycleway between Dog Kennel Lane roundabout near Beverley and the new roundabout at Grange Way, Molescroft, on the A1035. This route provides an important link between Cherry Burton and Longcroft School, and is part of the National Cycle Network.

The works will be carried out in two phases - the first will start on site on Tuesday, 2 May, 2017, at the Dog Kennel Lane roundabout end, and the works will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm Monday – Friday, to minimise the impact on road users.

The first phase will be carried out by the council’s Streetscene services and the work is expected to take eight weeks to complete. Galliford Try will be operating the traffic management and will be on site to assist pedestrians and cyclists through the works. Traffic management will be necessary to allow the works to be delivered safely, and there will be two-way traffic signals during working hours only, to keep delays and disruption to an absolute minimum.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “These works will significantly improve the footway / cycleway on this important link.

“We apologise to drivers for the delays these works will cause, and thank motorists for their co-operation and patience during the works.”

The second phase of the improvements will be carried out in the next financial year 2018/19.
